讃岐うどんSanuki udon

香川かがわ県けんは四国しこくの北東ほくとう部ぶに位置いちし、日本にほんで最もっとも面積めんせきが小ちいさい県けんです。「讃岐さぬきうどん」があまりに有名ゆうめいなことから「うどん県けん」を名乗なのるほど、うどん文化ぶんかが根ねづいています。「こんぴらさん」の愛称あいしょうで親したしまれる金刀比羅宮ことひらぐうや、オリーブの島しま・小豆島しょうどしまも人気にんきです。

Kagawa, in northeastern Shikoku, is Japan's smallest prefecture by area. Its udon culture runs so deep—thanks to the fame of "Sanuki udon"—that it even calls itself "Udon Prefecture." Kotohira-gu shrine, affectionately known as "Konpira-san," and Shodoshima, the "olive island," are also popular.

「こんぴらさん」の愛称あいしょうで親したしまれる金刀比羅宮ことひらぐうは、海うみの守り神まもりがみとして信仰しんこうを集あつめる神社じんじゃです。参道さんどうの長ながい石段いしだんが有名ゆうめいで、本宮ほんぐうまでは七なな百ひゃく八はち十じゅう五ご段だんあり、多おおくの参拝さんぱい者しゃが上のぼりきることに挑戦ちょうせんします。
Kotohira-gu, fondly called "Konpira-san," is a shrine revered as a guardian deity of the sea. Famous for its long stone stairway, it takes 785 steps to reach the main shrine—a climb many worshippers set out to conquer.

Shodoshima, in the Seto Inland Sea, is known as the "olive island" where olive cultivation first succeeded in Japan. Blessed with a mild climate, it is a popular destination where visitors enjoy beautiful sea and natural scenery.

香川かがわ県けんは、瀬戸内海せとないかいに浮うかぶ島々しまじまを舞台ぶたいにした現代げんだいアートでも注目ちゅうもくされています。特とくに直島なおしまは美術館びじゅつかんやアート作品さくひんで世界せかい的てきに有名ゆうめいで、本州ほんしゅうと四国しこくを結むすぶ雄大ゆうだいな瀬戸大橋せとおおはしも見みどころの一ひとつです。
Kagawa also draws attention for contemporary art set across the islands of the Seto Inland Sea. Naoshima in particular is world-famous for its museums and artworks, and the majestic Great Seto Bridge linking Honshu and Shikoku is another highlight.
