阿波踊りAwa Odori

徳島とくしま県けんは四国しこくの東部とうぶに位置いちする県けんです。四よん百ひゃく年ねん以上いじょうの歴史れきしを持もつ「阿波あわ踊おどり」は、日本にほんを代表だいひょうする夏なつ祭まつりとして全国ぜんこく的てきに有名ゆうめいです。鳴門海峡なるとかいきょうに現あらわれる巨大きょだいな渦潮うずしおは圧巻あっかんの自然しぜん現象げんしょうです。特産とくさんのすだちや、伝統でんとう的てきな藍あい染ぞめ「阿波あわ藍あい」でも知しられています。

Tokushima lies in eastern Shikoku. Its Awa Odori dance, with over 400 years of history, is famous nationwide as one of Japan's great summer festivals. The giant whirlpools that appear in the Naruto Strait are a stunning natural spectacle. Tokushima is also known for its sudachi citrus and its traditional Awa indigo dyeing.

「阿波あわ踊おどり」は、四よん百ひゃく年ねん以上いじょうの歴史れきしを持もつ徳島とくしまの伝統でんとう的てきな盆踊ぼんおどりです。「踊おどる阿呆あほうに見みる阿呆あほう」の掛け声かけごえとともに大勢たいせいの踊おどり手しゅが街まちを練り歩ねりあるき、夏なつには全国ぜんこくから百ひゃく万まん人にんを超こえる見物けんぶつ客きゃくが訪おとずれます。
Awa Odori is Tokushima's traditional Bon dance, with over 400 years of history. To the chant "dancing fools and watching fools," throngs of dancers parade through the streets, and in summer over a million spectators come from across Japan.

鳴門海峡なるとかいきょうでは、潮しおの満みち引びきによって直径ちょっけい二に十じゅうメートルにもなる巨大きょだいな渦潮うずしおが発生はっせいします。世界せかい最大さいだい級きゅうとされるこの迫力はくりょくある自然しぜん現象げんしょうは、観かん潮しお船せんや橋はしの遊歩道ゆうほどうから間近まぢかに見みることができます。
In the Naruto Strait, the tides create giant whirlpools that can reach twenty meters across. This powerful natural phenomenon, among the largest in the world, can be viewed up close from sightseeing boats or the walkway beneath the bridge.

徳島とくしま県けんはすだちの生産せいさん量りょうが日本一にほんいちで、全国ぜんこくのほとんどを占しめています。さわやかな香かおりと酸味さんみが特徴とくちょうの小ちいさな柑橘かんきつで、焼き魚やきざかなや麺類めんるい、鍋なべ料理りょうりなどに絞しぼりかけると、料理りょうりの味あじを爽さわやかに引き立ひきたててくれます。
Tokushima is Japan's top producer of sudachi, growing nearly the entire national crop. A small citrus prized for its fresh aroma and tartness, it is squeezed over grilled fish, noodles, and hot pots to brighten a dish's flavor.

県けん西部せいぶの秘境ひきょう・祖谷いやには、植物しょくぶつのつるで作つくられた「かずら橋ばし」が架かかっています。深ふかい渓谷けいこくにかかる揺ゆれる橋はしはスリル満点まんてんで、周囲しゅういの美うつくしい自然しぜんとともに多おおくの観光かんこう客きゃくを引ひきつけています。
In the remote Iya Valley of western Tokushima hangs the "Kazurabashi," a bridge woven from plant vines. Swaying high over a deep gorge, it is thrillingly precarious, and together with the beautiful surrounding nature it draws many visitors.
