Chiba lies east of Tokyo, occupying the Boso Peninsula, which is surrounded by sea on three sides. It is home to Narita International Airport—a gateway to Japan—and to Tokyo Disney Resort. Chiba is Japan's top peanut producer, and towns such as Noda and Choshi are also known for their thriving soy-sauce industry.

The city of Urayasu is home to Tokyo Disney Resort, one of Japan's premier theme parks. Despite "Tokyo" in its name, it actually sits in Chiba, drawing huge numbers of visitors from across the country every year.
