福岡ふくおか県けんは九州きゅうしゅうの北部ほくぶに位置いちし、九州きゅうしゅう地方ちほうの玄関げんかん口ぐちとなる県けんです。県庁けんちょう所在地しょざいちの福岡ふくおか市しは九州きゅうしゅう最大さいだいの都市としで、活気かっきにあふれています。豚とん骨こつスープの博多はかたラーメンや明太子めんたいこ、もつ鍋なべなどのグルメが豊富ほうふで、夜よるには屋台やたいが並ならびます。学問がくもんの神様かみさまを祀まつる太宰府天満宮だざいふてんまんぐうも有名ゆうめいです。

Fukuoka, in northern Kyushu, is the gateway to the region. Its capital, Fukuoka City, is Kyushu's largest and buzzes with energy. It abounds in food—tonkotsu (pork-bone) Hakata ramen, mentaiko, and motsu-nabe hot pot—and open-air food stalls line the streets at night. The Dazaifu Tenmangu shrine, dedicated to the deity of learning, is also famous.

Fukuoka is known as a "treasure house of food," and its Hakata ramen in creamy white pork-bone broth is especially famous. At night, many yatai food stalls line central Fukuoka, bustling late into the evening with people enjoying ramen and oden.

太宰府天満宮だざいふてんまんぐうは、学問がくもんの神様かみさまとして知しられる菅原すがわら道真みちざねを祀まつる神社じんじゃです。合格ごうかく祈願きがんのために全国ぜんこくから多おおくの受験生じゅけんせいや家族かぞくが訪おとずれ、参道さんどうでは名物めいぶつの焼やきたての「梅うめヶ枝え餅もち」を味あじわうことができます。
Dazaifu Tenmangu enshrines Sugawara no Michizane, revered as the deity of learning. Students and families come from across Japan to pray for exam success, and along the approach visitors can enjoy the local freshly grilled "umegae-mochi" rice cakes.

福岡ふくおかの名物めいぶつといえば、ピリッと辛からい「辛子からし明太子めんたいこ」で、ご飯はんのお供ともとして全国ぜんこく的てきに人気にんきがあります。また、牛うしや豚ぶたのもつ（ホルモン）を使つかった「もつ鍋なべ」も、福岡ふくおかを代表だいひょうする鍋なべ料理りょうりとして親したしまれています。
A quintessential Fukuoka specialty is spicy "karashi mentaiko" pollock roe, popular nationwide as a companion to rice. "Motsu-nabe," a hot pot made with beef or pork offal, is another dish that represents the local cuisine.

「博多はかた祇園山ぎおんやま笠かさ」は、七なな百ひゃく年ねん以上いじょうの歴史れきしを持もつ博多はかたの夏なつの祭まつりです。男おとこたちが飾かざり山やま笠かさを担かついで街まちを勇壮ゆうそうに駆け抜かけぬける「追おい山やま」は迫力はくりょく満点まんてんで、早朝そうちょうから多おおくの見物けんぶつ客きゃくを熱狂ねっきょうさせます。
Hakata Gion Yamakasa is a summer festival with over 700 years of history. In the climactic "oiyama," teams of men race through the streets hauling ornate floats—a powerful spectacle that thrills large crowds from early morning.
