熊本くまもと県けんは九州きゅうしゅうの中央ちゅうおう部ぶに位置いちする県けんです。壮大そうだいな熊本くまもと城じょうや、世界せかい最大さいだい級きゅうのカルデラを持もつ活火山かっかざん・阿蘇山あそさんが有名ゆうめいです。人気にんきキャラクター「くまモン」の故郷こきょうとしても知しられています。馬刺ばさしなどの独特どくとくの食しょく文化ぶんかや、黒川くろかわ温泉おんせんをはじめとする豊ゆたかな温泉おんせんにも恵めぐまれた県けんです。

Kumamoto lies in central Kyushu. It is famous for the magnificent Kumamoto Castle and Mt. Aso, an active volcano with one of the world's largest calderas. It is also known as the home of the popular mascot "Kumamon." The prefecture enjoys a distinctive food culture—including raw horse meat—and rich hot springs such as Kurokawa Onsen.

熊本くまもと城じょうは、名将めいしょう・加藤かとう清正きよまさが築きずいた、日本にほん三さん名城めいじょうの一ひとつに数かぞえられる壮大そうだいな城しろです。敵てきの侵入しんにゅうを防ふせぐ反り返そりかえった石垣いしがき「武者むしゃ返がえし」が特徴とくちょうで、二に〇一いち六ろく年ねんの地震じしんからの復旧ふっきゅうが進すすみ、再ふたたび雄大ゆうだいな姿すがたを見みせています。
Kumamoto Castle, built by the famed general Kato Kiyomasa, is counted among Japan's three great castles. Known for its curved "musha-gaeshi" stone walls that repel intruders, it is recovering from the 2016 earthquake and once again shows its majestic form.

Mt. Aso is an active volcano with one of the world's largest calderas. With craters still emitting smoke and vast grasslands where cattle and horses graze, it offers grand scenery where visitors can feel the power and beauty of nature up close.

熊本くまもと県けんでは、新鮮しんせんな馬肉ばにくを生なまで味あじわう「馬刺ばさし」が郷土きょうど料理りょうりとして親したしまれています。きめ細こまかくやわらかい肉質にくしつが特徴とくちょうで、甘あまい醤油しょうゆやしょうが、にんにくなどの薬味やくみとともにあっさりと楽たのしまれています。
In Kumamoto, "basashi"—fresh horse meat eaten raw—is a beloved local dish. Prized for its fine, tender texture, it is enjoyed light and clean, dipped in sweet soy sauce with condiments such as ginger and garlic.

熊本くまもと県けんのPRキャラクター「くまモン」は、赤あかいほっぺが愛あいらしいクマのキャラクターです。その人気にんきは全国ぜんこく、さらには海外かいがいにも広ひろがり、ゆるキャラブームを代表だいひょうする存在そんざいとして、県けんの魅力みりょくを広ひろく発信はっしんしています。
Kumamoto's promotional mascot, "Kumamon," is an endearing black bear with rosy cheeks. Its popularity has spread nationwide and even overseas, and as a face of the "yuru-chara" mascot boom it broadly promotes the prefecture's appeal.
