Ishikawa
Ishikawa, on the Sea of Japan side of Honshu, includes the Noto Peninsula. Its central city, Kanazawa, flourished as the castle town of the great Kaga domain, and traditional culture still runs deep, including Kenrokuen, one of Japan's three great gardens. The prefecture is also known for crafts like Wajima lacquer and gold leaf, and for fresh seafood.
