秋田あきた県けんは東北とうほく地方ちほうの日本海にほんかい側がわにある県けんです。米こめどころとして知しられ、良質りょうしつな米こめを使つかった日本にほん酒しゅづくりも盛さかんです。大晦日おおみそかに行おこなわれる「なまはげ」や夏なつの竿かん燈とうまつりなど独特どくとくの伝統でんとう行事ぎょうじが有名ゆうめいで、忠ちゅう犬けんとして世界せかい的てきに人気にんきの秋田あきた犬いぬの産地さんちでもあります。

Akita lies on the Sea of Japan side of Tohoku. Known as a leading rice region, it also has a thriving sake industry built on that quality rice. It is famous for distinctive traditions like the New Year's Eve "Namahage" and the summer Kanto pole-lantern festival, and is the home of the Akita dog, loved worldwide for its loyalty.

秋田あきたの郷土きょうど料理りょうり「きりたんぽ」は、つぶした米こめを棒ぼうに巻まいて焼やいたものです。鶏にわとりだしの鍋なべに入いれて食たべるのが定番ていばんで、米こめどころ秋田あきたならではの素朴そぼくで温あたたかい味あじわいが楽たのしめます。
Akita's local dish "kiritanpo" is mashed rice wrapped around a stick and toasted. It is typically simmered in a chicken-broth hot pot, offering the simple, comforting flavor unique to this rice-growing region.

男鹿おが地方ちほうに伝つたわる「なまはげ」は、鬼おにのような姿すがたをした来訪らいほう神しんです。大晦日おおみそかに家々いえいえを回まわり「泣なく子こはいねが」と叫さけんで、怠け者なまけものを戒いましめ、無病むびょう息災そくさいを願ねがう行事ぎょうじとして受け継うけつがれています。
The "Namahage" of the Oga area are visiting deities in fearsome, ogre-like guise. On New Year's Eve they go house to house shouting "Any crybabies here?", a tradition that admonishes laziness and prays for good health.

秋田あきたは色白いろじろで美うつくしい人ひとが多おおいとされ、「秋田あきた美人びじん」という言葉ことばで知しられます。また忠ちゅう犬けんハチ公はちこうで有名ゆうめいな秋田あきた犬いぬの産地さんちでもあり、温厚おんこうで忠実ちゅうじつな性格せいかくから世界せかい的てきに人気にんきを集あつめています。
Akita is associated with fair-skinned beauty, captured in the phrase "Akita bijin." It is also the home of the Akita dog—famous through the loyal Hachiko—prized worldwide for its gentle, faithful nature.

田沢湖たざわこは日本にほんで最もっとも深ふかい湖みずうみとして知しられ、水深すいしんは四よん百ひゃくメートルを超こえます。青あおく澄すんだ水面すいめんが美うつくしく、湖畔こはんに立たつ黄金おうごん色しょくの「たつこ像ぞう」が湖みずうみの象徴しょうちょうとなっています。
Lake Tazawa is known as Japan's deepest lake, plunging over 400 meters. Its clear blue surface is beautiful, and the golden statue of Tatsuko on its shore has become the lake's symbol.
